Telemedicine Prize

DGTelemed in cooperation with healthcare institutions, healthcare companies and other partners is awarding annually the Innovation Prize Telemedicine.
The prize is named after Karl Storz - the founder of KARL STORZ GmbH & Co KG from Tuttlingen in South-Western Germany, a pioneer in medical technology. Today the company is the world leader in endoscopic devices and is has introduced telemedine into laparascopic surgery and other areas. The prize is awarded on the occasion of the annual congress of DGTelemed.

Winner 2009

In 2009 the jury selected two laureates.

TEMPiS received a prize for its project “Integrated Healthcare Services for Stroke Patients in South Eastern Bavaria” linking highly qualified stroke units and their experts with local hospitals and diagnosing and treating stroke patients via telemedicine.
A team from Münster with its project “Telematics in Acute Medicine (TEAM)” ( using telemedicine to guide ambulances with heavily injures traumatological patients to the adequate hospital) received also the prize.
